First Anniversary Special Begins

For the next seven days, there will be a new post every six hours. Four pages a day, that is, in celebration of The Zombie Knight’s one year anniversary.

And on that note... wow, I can’t believe I’ve been doing this a whole year already. I’m curious, how long have you been reading? If you can remember, please tell me in the comments.

Also, it would be a big help if you could vote for TZK over at Top Web Fiction or give the story a rating over at Web Fiction Guide. Both of those things go toward helping new people find the story, which goes toward growing my audience, which goes toward helping me continue writing.

By the way, I just put up the second page for today a few minutes before this one, in case you missed it.

  1. I've been reading for quite a while... I think I started about the time that Colt became an wary acquaintance of Hector. It has been great ever since.

  2. I'm brand new - I cleared the archives around when Page 604 was posted.

  3. I started either around the first 30 pages or when Geoffry showed up, my memory is playing tricks on me right now. This story is still addictive as ever! *goes to vote*

  4. I started reading early November. And since then I've told as many friends as I could about it.

  5. I forget which page I caught up on, but it was late last summer, also, found TZK through an add on Homestuck.

  8. I started reading a few days ago.
Did you really start writing this only a year ago? I am seriously impressed that you've written so much. It's nice to know I can expect to read more everyday, instead of every week or month like other web series I've seen.
I'm curious, what else do you do besides this? Is it popular enough that you can survive with the income from this alone (assuming there is any), or is it more of a hobby?
If you have other things you do besides this, then bless your soul for still making new pages so often!

  9. I can't really remember when I started reading this, but I have loved it ever since I started. It got to the point I would check daily for new pages and chapters. Even at work I always ended up reading this story. I have even read it from the beginning to current multiple times and I most likely will not stop. I have been spreading the word about this novel to all of my friends in both the gaming and art communities. Please keep up the amazing job and know that your fan is still growing.

  10. One year, yep. Started everything off on April 6th, 2013. However, I originally conceived TZK and wrote the first chapter way back in late 2007. I loved the idea for the story, but I had no idea what I wanted to do with it, so I never wrote anything more until maybe a year or two later, when I got the second chapter done. But yeah, it wasn't 'till last year that I returned to it and decided to figure things out and dedicate myself to writing it.

That's the dream, for it to get popular enough to provide a decent source of income, but no, I'm not there. I don't know if I ever will be. I'd be content if I could use this as a supplementary income and then just have whatever other job. I definitely don't think of TZK as a hobby, though. It's the thing I'm most passionate about doing., and I want it to continue being that way.

  12. My friend told me about this a month ago but I only got around to it two and a half days ago.

    Have not regretted that decision.

  14. Happy belated anniversary, Mister Frost. Very many thanks for writing this story.

I'm a little curious, do you know the overall word count of the story?

  15. I don't have an exact number, because I don't keep all the text in a single document, but the math says it's only about 203,350 words so far. Kinda seems like more to me, but I suppose I do like to keep the story at a pretty brisk narrative pace.

  16. "Only" 203,350 words? That's A LOT. :)

  18. Started reading yesterday; trying to convince myself to take a break so I don't completely run out of story before dinner. It's been engrossing, and I've already recommended it to the most voracious reader I happen to know - he downloaded the eBook last night.

  19. That's awesome. I really appreciate the recommendation. :)

  20. I started 2 days ago (give or take 8 hours).
I commented after reading the first page though.

I'm now starting to get worried that I will run out of pages soon (over the next 2 days).

  24. Author promises one page per day, often reiterates in the comments that it is in fact a page per day.

    *over 600 pages later*
"That's one year! Hey, why’re you all looking at me like tha- Ohhhhhh..."

Started reading on Saturday. Really enjoying the story so far, I will be sad when I catch up and actually have to wait for new pages.
